The Austin Sol are proud to announce Ryan Bigley, “Bigs”, as the Head Coach for the Austin Sol. Bigs has been an integral part of the teams first two years, playing in 2016 and acting as assistant coach in 2017. Bigs brings a fiery competitiveness to go along with his years of experience.
Bigs started playing at the University of Kansas where he got accustomed to playing H-stack and throwing in the wind. Kansas qualified for College Nationals three of the five years he was on the team. In 2010, while competing with Fenix (MX) at worlds in Prague, Bigs was introduced to Doublewide and was asked to join them for the USAU club series. He played for Doublewide five of the last seven seasons including 2012 when Doublewide was crowned national champions. As a leader, Bigs has captained several teams throughout his career and coached at Trinity University.
“I’m very much looking forward to Sol 2018 and am honored to accept the role as head coach and hopefully build on Coach Tank and Coach Edith’s past successes. It’s no secret Sol is hungry to make the playoffs and Championship weekend and my focus is on trying to get us there. Also, try and emulate Greg Popovich as much as I can,” shared Bigs. Goals we all share, Go Sol!
