Max Cook Joins the Sol

Beefing up on experience, the Sol are excited to announce Max Cook is joining the team for 2018! Max started playing ultimate in 1999 at Texas A&M University and in only his second year led Texas A&M out of the South Region to its first UPA College Nationals in Boston, MA.  Max went on to captain the A&M squad from 2002-2004.

During this time, Max began playing club ultimate with Doublewide, playing with the team for 14 consecutive seasons 2002-2015. As captain of Doublewide from 2007-2011, Max lead the team to the semi-finals in 2010 and 2011 and was a key part of the national championship team in 2012.

Internationally, Max played in the WUCC Club World Championships with Doublewide in 2006 (Perth, Australia) and 2010 (Prague, Czech Republic) as well as winning two Paganello Beach Championships in 2003 (No Tsu Oh) and 2010 (Los Tiger).

When asked about what brought this father of two out of retirement, Max said “the opportunity to play in exciting and fast-paced pro-style events with a team and teammates that embody both spirit of the game and are active leaders in the local Austin frisbee community.”  We look forward to seeing this icon of Texas ultimate wearing a Sol jersey this year. Welcome Max!
